Treatment Approach:
Dr. Bryant’s therapeutic approach is a whole person treatment strategy. The area most notable is the integration of the mental, emotional, and spiritual (the spiritual only as individuals are comfortable with this area’s inclusion). Treatment includes therapeutic approaches primarily from family systems and cognitive-behavioral schools of treatment. Dr. Bryant has a very unusual degree as a doctoral level marriage and family therapist – the only one in north central PA. His training allows him to better deal with relationships, as most therapists are trained to deal primarily with individuals.
Dr. Bryant operates out of a Biblical Christian worldview. This means people who do not share that worldview are treated with respect and approached from a stance that is comfortable for them. For those valuing a Biblical Christian approach, therapy can be provided from that context. He values Christianity as a relationship with God rather than a religion structure. Clients are treated with respect and gentleness. Dr. Bryant believes in the Biblical admonition to “speak the truth in love”.
Treatment is an active mutual effort of the therapist and client working together to seek a healthier perspective and growth at the heart, thinking, and action levels. Clients are responsible for their own lives, while the therapist is responsible to provide a competent safe professional atmosphere.
