Pediatrics

Children can be unpredictable – and so can their health. When it comes to taking care of your child, you want to have a pediatrician you can rely on. Our team of board-certified pediatricians offers you and your loved ones high-quality, individualized care. At Family Practice Center, PC, we can also address parenting concerns and developmental issues, in addition to providing education and anticipatory guidance.

Pediatric Services

Taking care of your child means more than coming in to see us when they’re feeling sick. Our comprehensive pediatric services include the following:

Well Child Visit

Well child visits are visits to the pediatrician that are recommended to monitor your child’s overall health and development. Well child visits are generally scheduled more frequently in the first two years of development, then recommended to be scheduled at least once a year throughout their childhood and adolescence.

During a well child visit, you and your child can expect:

  • A physical examination
  • Checking their growth and development based on age
  • Ensuring your child is up to date on all their immunizations
  • Reviewing their sleep pattern
  • Reviewing their nutritional habits
  • Reviewing any behavioral concerns
  • Discussing general hygiene, if necessary
  • More…

Remember, this is your time to get educated and ensure your child is their healthiest. During your child’s well child visit, we encourage parents to ask any questions they may have to their pediatricians.

Sick Visits

If you have a sick or injured child, our healthcare providers will go the extra mile to help your child feel better as soon as possible. We are happy to offer sick visits the same day or next day whenever possible. We also offer early morning and evening appointments at many of our locations, and our acute care clinics offer appointments on the weekends.

If your child is experiencing one or more of the following symptoms, we encourage you to come in and see our pediatricians at your earliest convenience:

  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Constipation
  • Common Cold
  • Cradle Cap
  • Diarrhea
  • Earache
  • Fever
  • Flu
  • Hives
  • Insect Sting Allergy
  • Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis)
  • Rash
  • Sinusitis
  • Sore Throat

Teen & Adolescent Care

Your child’s teen and adolescent years are filled with change – physical, mental, emotional, and social. During this rapid stage of development, well child visits become less frequent, although they are recommended annually through the age of 21. We understand that your child’s health is important to you, which is why we offer a list of services specifically for teens who are at a higher risk of physical and mental health conditions, substance abuse disorders, and health risk behaviors.

Health Services for Teens:

  • Physical examination
  • Ensuring your teen has all their immunizations
  • Addressing behavioral concerns
  • Addressing sleep issues
  • Reviewing eating and exercise habits
  • Discussing general hygiene
  • Discussing tobacco/drug/alcohol use
  • Discussing sexual health and sexuality
Physicals

Physicals are medical examinations that are often required for a child to attend school or camp, or play a sport. These exams vary in nature depending on the reason your child is receiving a physical, but all generally assess your child’s overall health and wellbeing. During a physical, you can expect your child to undergo a physical examination and a thorough review of their medical history.

At Family Practice Center, PC, we offer the following physicals for children and teens:

  • General Physical Exam
  • Sports Physical
  • School Physical
  • Camp Physical
