About David Metzger, MD

Dr. Metzger was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Obviously, he is a fan of the Steelers, Penguins, and yes…even the Pirates. Medicine was not always his intended profession. He went to college with the plans to become an engineer. He decided to change courses midway through his senior year. He subsequently attended West Virginia University School of Medicine where he graduated in 2009. He then entered residency in Family Medicine at the Washington Hospital in Washington, PA, graduating from there in 2012.

From there he became a hospitalist, which is a general medicine physician who works solely in the hospital. He continued in that role in Hagerstown, MD from 2012 – 2017. Moving up to the central PA region in 2017, he continued on as a hospitalist through the end of 2025.

Dr. Metzger has a wife and two daughters. They enjoy their travels/vacations, time at the pool, Hershey Park, and our weekly family movie night. Personal hobbies include golf, exercising, watching Marvel movies, and reading a good book.
