Family MedicineAbout Emily Smith,
Emily Smith, MSN, FNP, began her nursing career after earning an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from Thomas Jefferson University in 2010. She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Chamberlain University. She most recently completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN, FNP) in 2025.
For more than 12years, she dedicated her career to hospice nursing. In this role, she cared for patients and families during some of life’s most challenging moments, providing not only clinical expertise but also emotional support and comfort. Hospice work allowed her to develop a unique perspective on whole-person care, recognizing that healing extends beyond physical health to encompass compassion, dignity, and respect for patients and their loved ones. This experience profoundly shaped her approach to healthcare, reinforcing her belief in treating every individual with empathy and kindness while supporting families as an integral part of the care team.
Born and raised in this community, Emily feels a strong sense of responsibility to give back to the place she calls home. She is deeply committed to improving health outcomes, building trusting relationships, and ensuring that patients and families feel supported throughout every stage of care. Her goal as a Family Nurse Practitioner is to combine her clinical expertise with genuine compassion to deliver the highest quality care to her neighbors and community members.
Outside of her professional role, she enjoys a full and busy family life with her significant other and their five children. Much of her free time is spent supporting her children, whether cheering them on at their sporting events, helping with school activities, or spending time together outdoors. Balancing a demanding career and a lively household has strengthened her sense of empathy, patience, and resilience—qualities that she carries into her work as a nurse practitioner.
Emily, joins Family Practice Center, PC on 01/12/2026. Emily will provide primary healthcare services to patients of all ages at FPC’s Mifflinburg location.
