L.G. Guiser Memorial Highway Named in Honor of Family Practice Center Physician
A portion of PA Route 322, commonly referred to as the "Narrows" was recently named in honor of L.G. Guiser, MD, who passed away unexpectedly in May, 2007. Dr. Guiser was a family physician in Family Practice Center's Mifflintown office.
Dr. Guiser was well known in the Mifflintown area for his involvement with the Public Safety and Highway Safety Advocacy group. He was quoted in USA Today and Readers' Digest about his concerns regarding the dangers in the Lewistown Narrows.
As Juniata County Coroner, he dealt with many tragic fatalities on the Lewistown Narrows road and gained the attention of those who had the power to bring improvements to the highway.
Dr. Guiser is remembered with affection by Family Practice Center's physicians and staff.

Theresa Eckman has been selected as the July Employee of the Month for Family Practice Center. She has worked full-time with FPC since November 2007 when Dr. Wewer's practice in Steelton joined FPC. She enjoys working with her co-workers and the patients, and likes to make people laugh. She is an important part of the Steelton office staff.
